A Walk in the Woods: Rediscovering America on the Appalachian Trail by Bill Bryson
My rating: 2 of 5 stars Bryson approaches the AT with his usual charm and wit, but his schtick grows old after a while. The more I read of his, the more dull and priggish he seems. He lambasts the Forest and Park Services for their conservation efforts while simultaneously lamenting that he doesn't have access to basic human comforts, which would require (believe it or not) building a road up a mountain. Who could've guessed? View all my reviews
