Being Consumed: Economics and Christian Desire by William T. Cavanaugh
My rating: 4 of 5 stars Cavanaugh's approach to economics is a helpful and timely reminder of the distinction we have to make between Christianity and free market capitalism, along with the incessant rise of globalism. By examining important historical thinkers, this book is a challenging take on our presuppositions about modern markets by reminding us of the importance of local, shared communities. Pairs well with Patrick Deneen's Why Liberalism Failed. View all my reviews
